Cameroon energy sector
Cameroon combines mature producing basins, an expanding gas-to-power agenda and a new wave of downstream refining and storage capacity. The state's national hydrocarbons corporation, SNH, manages the country's interests through Production Sharing Contracts, opening a structured path for international operators, contractors and financiers.
The Rio del Rey and Douala/Kribi-Campo basins remain Cameroon's core producing provinces, with open acreage across Ndian River, Bakassi, Bomono and Kombe-Nsepe positioned for the next tender round under the Production Sharing Contract framework.
Associated and non-associated gas is being channelled into domestic power generation, LNG and industrial supply, with the offshore Etinde development among the anchor gas projects supporting national demand growth.
New refining and strategic storage capacity in Kribi is designed to cut import dependence, secure product supply and open EPC, equipment, inspection and distribution scopes across the execution phase.

Rio del Rey Basin, Cameroon
A Production Sharing Contract between SNH and UK-based Octavia Energy covering the Bolongo Exploration Block in the prolific Rio del Rey Basin. The contract carries a seven-year exploration phase with a firm commitment to exploration wells. Octavia also holds exposure to the offshore Etinde Project through NewAge African Global Energy.
Kribi, South Region, Cameroon
SNH and Cstar Petroleum are developing a modern integrated refinery and strategic petroleum products depot in Kribi, designed to process 30,000 barrels per day. Stakeholders include SNH, Cstar Petroleum, Tradex SA and the Ariana Energy / RCG consortium. Financing is structured at 60% international — including $206M USD arranged through BGFIBank Cameroon — and 40% domestic equity.
